The Camping experience
This Summer I made it to live one of my dreams, which was spending some days in a van and living in a camping ,next to the sea !
It was beyond good! It was great! Although some of the comforts I used to have when I was living in a room were absent … I had multi rewards by living inside the nature, 30 steps from the blue sea and living in a kind of community where you can stay alone or find a neighbour to talk to or have a beer any time …
Wish you that this Summer has left you a salty taste on the lips !!

The Zante Yard
This is the yard I have spend most of my Summers as a child!
Going back to the places you have lived as a child is always a good way to connect your past with the present self!
Zakynthos-( Greece) ,is the island I have spent the majority of my childhood Summers.
That means -only for me -that this island is beyond every comparison!
(Of course, I am subjective as much as anyone can be! Daaah )
Even the air smells “better” than anywhere else on the earth, at my island ( Fig and Jasmin!)
Going back to the Island for one more Summer I verify that a big part of me, still feels 8 yrs old every time I visit this yard. It doesn’t matter that I am a grown up woman and I visit the yard with my own family and my 6yrs old son…
At this place I am 8 again and I know every corner of the garden, where the soil is darker and actually which tree has the same age as I am.
Yes, there is especially a tree, that we have the same age and I can spot the changes every year.
The last year was a very special for me as I decided to change career path and liberate myself from the corporate environment.
Now I will pursuit a career that keeps me busy with drawing all the time !
It was a difficult decision that took me years of postponing but it was what I was truly wanted.
I found my tree high till the sky ,aiming higher like every year but this year a repulsive climbing plant whose leaves and branches, although very strong, neither smelled anything nor had any other use, had literally drowned my tree and had aggressively climbed almost 3 meters on it. Wherever they had gone, its branches had dried up, drowned out by this creeping nightmare…
I knew how this tree was feeling!
And you can’t imagine how tough those branches were and how much work it required in order to cut and remove all those branches and liberate the tree again. Fortunately my husband undertook all the difficult part that required him to climb the ladder as high as 3 meters among other things.
The tree is beautiful and free again.
Some branches were cut but new branches are growing too.
LIFE, with twists and folds, with bruises and marks always goes on.

SANTORINI VIEW
I have been in this magical place enough times, but not enough …though.
I wish I will go many many more !
Santorini was a crash for me from the first time I landed on this gorgeous little port. All those rocks that were standing all over us travellers and the landscape you were facing after you have climbed on those cliffs…
Here is an illustration of Santorini, trying to capture the essence of this place, between the burned siena reds and the deep blue sea.
Hope you will enjoy and let me know on the comments area : Have you have been there ..?

MADRID – SPAIN
My trip to Madrid, last year, was “my last trip” before Corona virus kept us all locked down in our houses and away from travelling abroad.
My memories of Madrid are vivid, colorful and full of tasteful flavours of the Spanish tapas.
So when it came to painting something about Madrid I thought of those lovely little shops that serve Paella that I would love to visit again.
and in a closer look

WRITING FOR MEDIUM PLATFORM
All who postpone happiness, raise your hands.
If I draw one straight line and put your birth in one end and the day you ‘re gonna leave this earth on the other end,
are you willing to spot where you feel you are right now
Don’t rush to make a logical assumption, to take your age and the statistics about life expectancy in order to make your mark.
For this question you can skip maths.

The Body and the Beast
Only recently, I convinced myself to join the swimming pool in order to have some exercise.
I will dare to share with you my experience of this first visit, which was indeed — in art-making terms- inspirational!
I admit that I am not an athletic type of person and I never was a member of an athletic team.
Also, I confirm that I do not have a problem with naked bodies or of my body being naked on a beach or in the changing rooms of the shops among other people.

PORTRAITS – FAMOUS PEOPLE
AUDREY HEPBURN
Mixed media work with analogical and digital technique, that started with a quick sketch of Audrey in Watercolour.
Then I thought of making this kind of poster.
I have included some of the most famous film titles and in simple sketches the most characteristics and stylish poses with the sun-glasses and the other with the cigar! The dress was a bonus !
NIKOLA TESLA
I feel that Tesla is the “Van Gogh of Science“. Personal opinion.
His life was full of disappointments, failures, and he died alone.
He never received the recognition he deserved in his living years.
That gives me a romantic feeling for this great scientist and I chose pink for my colour pallet.
CLEOPATRA
OK something Bold and flamboyant.
ISADORA DUNCAN
I read the biography of this great dancer and choreographer Isadora Dunkan (1877- 1927) when I was very young.
She was inspired of Ancient Greek choreographies and she was called “the bare foot dancer”. She was dancing in abandoned ancient temples at a time when a few people had some kind of admiration or knowledge about Antiquity.
I admired her passion for dancing, her inner fire and of course I was shocked about the tragedies in her life (lost both her children in a tragic accident)
and of course her death was so tragic like her whole life (drowned when her scarf was caught on one of the rear wheels of the sports car where she was riding).
“The Wind? I am the Wind.
The Sea and the Moon? I am the Sea and the Moon.
Tears, pain, love, bird-flights? I am all of them.
Sin, prayer, flight, the light that never was on land or sea?
I dance what I am.”
Isadora Duncan
I chose watercolour washes to bring out this etherial feeling for this woman’s dancing.

An Elephant astronaut
An Elephant – Astronaut
“Out in the desert and in the wilderness , lived an Elephant and a Banana tree..
They were close friends.
One day the Elephant had a strange dream…
He dreamt of flying in the Universe and around were shining stars
He was wearing his astronaut uniform but it happened to be really small…
-” What is going on here, where am I ?”.. the elephant asked himself…”
(to be continued…)
Some pics of the making progress…
